I have a real problem with it -- it should not be $PATH-dependent
whether typing `spamd' starts the daemon which could be necessary to
mail delivery or some other barely-spam-related daemon.

Ergo picking the same name as an existing program for a new program is a
bad idea -- just like it would be silly if we named the xserver for the
video card in the Apple EMac `xemacs' or a groff filter for hp
pen-plotters `gnuplot'.
