As soon as I sent it off, I thought of running it non-daemon with the 
config file. It gets a memory fault, e.g.

1456 Snort rules read...
1456 Option Chains linked into 159 Chain Headers
0 Dynamic rules
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Rule application order: ->activation->dynamic->alert->pass->log
