Hm.  Perhaps you're right -- the first was unquestionably a misstatement
(though its author quickly very publically corrected himself), and the
second is something that neither you nor I can actually know the truth
value of, whatever we may each suspect.  It's true that it would be wise
to refrain from making such statements in the future.

There's clearly been a misunderstanding here.  Given the care you seem
to have taken to not suggest that Theo should stop making threats, I
thought it was that observation (that Theo is, indeed, still making
threats) that you were calling the "false accusation".  If that's not
the case, I suppose we have little left to quarrel over and ought to
be able to leave this unfortunate discussion behind us.
