tech-security: sshd doesn't like old host rsa keys?

i've upgrade my pmax from 1.4M to 1.5Q and sshd doesn't seem to like
my old host key.  when i try to login, the client gets disconnected
quite quickly and the server logs:

	sshd[350]: fatal: rsa_private_decrypt() failed

if i regenerate the host key for this machine it works just fine.



what is up here?  i don't like changing host keys...
