My bad yes I did do that,, booted with one and can see all CPUs/cores..

  your dmesg output said it booted neither ACPI nor SMP support.

In /boot.cfg:

I suspect you selected 4 or you changed "default=1" to 4.
I you got problem with the normal configuration (default=1), it would be
good to report the problem.
