Maybe I have had too much exposure to i386en :-), but these
{0x3f8,0x2f8} offsets look at bit too much like PC serial
port offsets for comfort. Is there any chance that this PCI
chip is an fact 8250 superset?

Not that there would be any particularly good reason for
mapping the ports there, but that sort of convention porting
has been seen before.
