Clarifying the rules for fixing someone else’s package in wip
Hi everyone,
Sorry if this is a silly question — I’ve only recently started
experimenting with packaging. Could someone clarify the policy on making
changes to packages in wip maintained by others?
For example, the package wip/py-qdarkstyle contains an error in the case
of its dependency name — it refers to py313-QtPy instead of py313-qtpy —
which causes the package to fail to build.
Is it acceptable to update a broken package in wip that’s maintained by
someone else (i.e., not pkgsrc-users%NetBSD.org@localhost) or should I try to
contact the maintainer first?
Thanks in advance for your help.
