Unversioned and frequently updated data files?

I packaged up wip/leocad a while back - it's basically Lego CAD. To
make it useful, it needs the ldraw parts library. I'd added a MESSAGE
instructing how to install it, but I note that pkglint says MESSAGE
files are obsolete.

What's the alternative in this situation? Simple leocad-data pkg with
checksums disabled?
