Questions regarding python scripts

I'm adding (in WIP) a package which uses python scripts only.
They come with their own libs sub-direcory with some helper python scripts.
Where's the best location to install them? Some package-specific directory in share?
They also come with empty __init__.py files. I don't need to include those, do I?
I've read 14.1.2 in https://www.netbsd.org/docs/pkgsrc/creating.html, but unfortunately it does not provide an answer to the question.
