While rebuilding packages on the new stable branch (2019Q4, pkg_comp1, 8.1/amd64, with these settings to use gcc 7 PKGSRC_COMPILER= gcc GCC_REQD+= 7 USE_PKGSRC_GCC= yes USE_PKGSRC_GCC_RUNTIME= yes ), I got this new interesting failure: --- summary.o --- ctfconvert -g -L VERSION summary.o ERROR: summary.c: die 10207: failed to get ref: No entry found [dwarf_attrval_unsigned(194)] *** [summary.o] Error code 1 make: stopped in /pkg_comp/obj/pkgsrc/pkgtools/pkgin/default/pkgin-0.14.0 A second "make package" produces (not entirely unexpected) # link pkgin-0.14.0/pkgin gcc -L/pkg_comp/obj/pkgsrc/pkgtools/pkgin/default/libnbcompat -L/usr/pkg/gcc7/lib/gcc/x86_64--netbsd/7.4.0 -Wl,-R/usr/pkg/gcc7/lib/gcc/x86_64--netbsd/7.4.0 -L/usr/lib -Wl,-R/usr/lib -L/usr/pkg/lib -Wl,-R/usr/pkg/lib -L/pkg_comp/obj/pkgsrc/pkgtools/pkgin/default/libnbcompat -L/usr/pkg/gcc7/lib/gcc/x86_64--netbsd/7.4.0 -Wl,-R/usr/pkg/gcc7/lib/gcc/x86_64--netbsd/7.4.0 -L/usr/lib -Wl,-R/usr/lib -L/usr/pkg/lib -Wl,-R/usr/pkg/lib -pie -shared-libgcc -Wl,-z,relro -Wl,--warn-shared-textrel -o pkgin main.o summary.o tools.o pkgindb.o depends.o actions.o pkglist.o download.o order.o impact.o autoremove.o fsops.o pkgindb_queries.o pkg_str.o sqlite_callbacks.o selection.o pkg_check.o pkg_infos.o pkg_install.o preferred.o automatic.o dewey.o fexec.o opattern.o pkgdb.o var.o xwrapper.o progressmeter.o -Wl,-rpath-link,/lib -L=/lib -L/usr/pkg/lib -Wl,-rpath,/usr/pkg/lib -lbz2 -lz -larchive -lfetch -lpthread -lnbcompat -lcrypto -lssl -lnbcompat -lsqlite3 ctfmerge -t -g -L VERSION -o pkgin main.o summary.o tools.o pkgindb.o depends.o actions.o pkglist.o download.o order.o impact.o autoremove.o fsops.o pkgindb_queries.o pkg_str.o sqlite_callbacks.o selection.o pkg_check.o pkg_infos.o pkg_install.o preferred.o automatic.o dewey.o fexec.o opattern.o pkgdb.o var.o xwrapper.o progressmeter.o ERROR: ctfmerge: Input file summary.o was partially built from C sources, but no CTF data was present *** [pkgin] Error code 1 make: stopped in /pkg_comp/obj/pkgsrc/pkgtools/pkgin/default/pkgin-0.14.0 1 error but a third invocation produces a package (and I expect it would work, apart from dtrace stuff). Any ideas what this means and why this newly appears? Googling for the message, I found https://www.mail-archive.com/freebsd-bugs%freebsd.org@localhost/msg31676.html and via a followup to that, https://reviews.freebsd.org/D8920 but I'm not sure how relevant or helpful that is. -Olaf. -- Olaf 'Rhialto' Seibert -- rhialto at falu dot nl ___ Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on \X/ no account be allowed to do the job. --Douglas Adams, "THGTTG"
