You didn't answer my questions about Linux and NIS, so I'll pause in
thinking about this.  Also, we are about to start freeze, and I don't
want to make a change I don't 100% understand to something with
thousands of dependencies right now.  Perhaps after the freeze we can
drop the netbsd part of the conditional.
