Those filenames cause bsdtar to fail to even unpack the distfile for
me:

  https://us-east.manta.joyent.com/pkgsrc/public/reports/upstream-trunk64/20190311.0210/go112-1.12/configure.log

I don't really understand how nobody else is seeing this, given that
bsd.pkg.mk ensures LC_* et al are set to "C", but either way these
files are causing a lot of issues.
