Question about net/mppe-lkm

Hi, I'm running NetBSD 7.0.1_PATCH amd64 on a laptop. I need to connect to a
ppp based vpn using mppe-128 encryption, through pppd. mppe-lkm is supposed
to add mppe support to the kernel, but I cannot compile this package because
it's not available for NetBSD 7:

anindya@functor [/usr/pkgsrc/net/mppe-lkm]$ make
=> Bootstrap dependency digest>=20010302: found digest-20160304
ERROR: This package is only available for these platforms: NetBSD-[12345]*-*.
ERROR: This package has set PKG_SKIP_REASON:
ERROR: mppe-lkm-0.0.4nb2 is not available for NetBSD-7.0.1_PATCH-x86_64
*** Error code 1

Is there any other way, including recompiling the kernel, in which I can get
mppe support? Thanks!
