Test failures in libevent - or prefer native?

Hey folks,

I get a consistent (accross all platforms) test failure from devel/libevent
on NetBSD (where the in-tree version seems to work fine).

Easy way out would be a PREFER_NATIVE - which does not seem to exist
for libevent.

Any easy tricks?
