binary files in cvs ?

Hello,
I have a local patch for a package (nagios-base) which adds binary files
in files/ (the NetBSD logo in png, gif, jpg and gd2 formats, for use
in nagios web pages). Should I add these binary files in cvs as is,
or in some other format (uuencode, base64, ...) ?
Is these some infrastructure in place to convert them back in binary ?
