Considering that you are not even willing to support native X11 *now*
where it is still the default this sounds like deception. Either
native X11 remains the default on the platforms which don't have
totally outdated X11 or it is not supported at all.

I also think that this needs to be discussed with a wider audience.
If "pkgsrc" doesn't support native X11 libraries under NetBSD any more
it basically renders most of X11 in NetBSD's base system useless.
In that case NetBSD's base system should only ship with an X11 server.
