Packages with non-trivial .so usage in man pages
Hi all,
the following packages have man pages that contain non-trivial use of
.so:
doclifter-2.3nb2
ja-mh6-3.0.5nb1
opemotif-2.3.3nb1
tcl-gdbm-0.10nb3
tcl-itcl-3.2.1nb1
tkinetd-1.4.11nb3
zsh-4.2.7nb2
zsh-4.3.15
I use the term for man pages that only contain a single .so
statement and maybe comments. I'm working on a script to replace those
automatically with symlinks to the corresponding man page, so they are
not of interest here. The other cases need to be analysed manually.
Some include references to non-existent files and should be patched.
Other should get the .so replaced directly (like zsh). Please help
elimination them.
Practical reason is that the trivial cases just blow up the whatis index
with redundant data. The other cases are plain bugs or trivial to
preprocess. This removes one of the most obnoxious features of nroff --
include files and the potential security hassle e.g. for web frontends.
