I just closed pkg/44713, it should have been closed in June when shattered@
regened the patch.

Yes, I the short term patches should be regened to work, and a note could
be put in the documentation that this is a known problem and that setting
"TOOL_PLATFORM.patch= #empty" in mk.conf is a work around.

In the long term fix GNU patch!
