This happens on amd64 netbsd-5 and on amd64 Mac OS X 10.6.
Since yesterday I've also tried it in sparc64, macppc and amiga, and it happens on all of them.
I don't have any IPv4-only machines to test, but perhaps it's related to having an IPv6 default route available.
