IIRC we used to have a NO_DEPENDS switch, which was useful to do a "make extract NO_DEPENDS=1", which did everything "extract" needed, but without installing required packages first. I've used this many times to just look at sources, and it seems that's gone now without any notice - or am I just missing something? - Hubert
