Yep.  That was it.  I just assumed that if I told it what I wanted it
would give me what I asked for or an error if there was a conflict or a
missing requirement.  Reading the docs knowing this I can see how it
says that but it is definitely not intuitive.  I may look at the docs
to see if I can make it clearer.
