libiconv needs ar to compile. If ar is not found the configure script  
sets AR=false, and building later fails (tried it on Solaris 7 with gcc)
Is this a bug of the libiconv config scripts?
What's the best way to provide a dependency on ar, which is part of  
binutils? Should ar be made a potential pkgsrc tool, so one could add  
USE_TOOLS+=ar?
