Hi,

I noticed that xpkgwedge fails to build in my bulk builds, because it
fails to patch some files[1].  ISTR that we used to patch system files
in the bootstrap process and then changed the behaviour, but I don't
recall right now how exactly.

Georg, I believe you worked on this -- could you check what's going on
here and make sure that xpkgwedge can be installed and uninstalled after
running a recent bootstrap?
