Someone else suggested in primate mail old before new, and
 	possibly changing the separator (that part of their email
 	parsed ambigiously :). I'm happy with old first.

 	I'm trying to keep the overall line length down as it also
 	needs to append ' (binary package available)' where
 	appropriate

 	Naybe one of:

 	    devel/readline - readline-5.0 <> readline-5.1pl1nb1
 	    devel/readline - readline-5.0 != readline-5.1pl1nb1
 	    devel/readline - readline-5.0 vs readline-5.1pl1nb1
 	    devel/readline - readline-5.0 -> readline-5.1pl1nb1

 	I have a slight perference for the last in the list
