Can we enforce a working patch instead? GNU patch is horribly stupid, it
can't deal with asymmetric context. That means if you want to patch the
line after a CVS ID, you are doomed to have no context.

My proposal is to include one of the BSD patches (DragonFly or NetBSD,
they differ slightly in the feature set) and add that to the bootstrap
tools for all platforms with GNU patch.
