Well, somebody else described it very well on a bsdforums.org (
http://www.freebsdforums.org/forums/showthread.php?t=37793 )
/"I have a strange problem, sometimes, but no all the time, the keybord
become crazy, and it's like if a key was pressed constantly. Without X
there is no problem. This problem append in the console of gnome, in
gnome gui configuration, in gedit, ....
When I go on a console without gnome (CTRL+ALT+F1) there is not problem.
When it append, i have a CPU spike.
Sometimes when i press a key, she's not print on the screen.
my Xfree keybord options :
Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "fr"
Option "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys""/
In my case, gnome is built with xorg, but the problem is the same.

I am learning, so I am not quite sure about what you mean with the
"output" of these files. Anyway, this is what is written in those files:
/etc/wscons:
screen 1 - vt100
screen 2 - vt100
screen 3 - vt100
screen 4 - -
encoding fr
/etc/ttys:
console "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" vt100 on secure
ttyE0 "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" vt220 off secure
ttyE1 "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" vt220 on secure
ttyE2 "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" vt220 on secure
ttyE3 "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" vt220 on secure
tty00 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" unknown off secure
tty00 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" unknown off secure
tty01 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" unknown off secure
tty02 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" unknown off secure
tty03 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" unknown off secure
tty04 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" unknown off secure
tty05 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" unknown off secure
tty06 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" unknown off secure
tty07 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" unknown off secure
I hope I understood you well.
Best regards,
david
