A related issue is how to get these fonts to be used by OpenOffice.  I
seem to have to run spadmin and add the fonts from the place they get
installed.  It would be really nice to either have ms-ttf install them
such that this step isn't necessary, or to have a
openoffice-linux-ms-ttf package that does the necessary glue.

I wouldn't object to dependencies on X, but one could use ms-ttf
without X, e.g.in order create PS or inkjet-format output.
