Thanks, I initially thought that this was the reason I couldn't start
X, but it turned out that xorg tries to load HAL for my Matrox for whatever=
=20
reason by default.

Anyway, I have another problem now:
While Option "AutoRepeat" didn't work with XFree 4.4 either, now xset
also stopped working for setting my repeat rate. This is kind of
annoying.
