Greetings,

Am I correct in that all built packages will go to ${LOCALBASE}, leaving
${X11BASE} untouched by anything outside the X11 distribution?

->Iff not<-, would someone be so kind as to explain to me the criteria and
reasoning for either:
	- which stuff will get built to ${X11BASE} and why (I just repeated
	  myself, but oh, well).
	- why some stuff which seems to be X11-specific (windowmanglers,
	  etc.) is tossed into /usr/local?

[Obviously, if my assumption is correct, then no further explanation
is necessary, and I'll adjust my system accordingly. Thanks.

I cc'd myself -- please leave it there, as I'm not sure if I'm on the
 tech-pkg list or not.]

Assignment: Think about and expound upon the possibilities of these two
questions. What would the world be like today if
    a) the Roman Empire had been defeated early on? (religious implications)
    b) the Stock Market had not crashed? (economical/political implications)
