We will start a freeze on the pkgsrc tree - for this, please read no
new packages, and an effort to eliminate build and packaging problems
- starting on December 6th 2004, and will last for a maximum of 2
weeks.

We'd like to bring the unclosed PR count down, too, and fix a number
of problems as shown by the bulk builds (for more information on the
bulk build results, please take a look at the pkgsrc-bulk mailing
list).

In addition, I'd like to thank the people who manage our pkgsrc-2004Q3
branch - I know from personal experience that this is a thankless and
time-consuming job.

At the end of the freeze, I'll notify everyone, and we'll discontinue
support for the pkgsrc-2004Q3 branch, having a brand new shiny 2004Q4
branch in place.
