In some cases, the maintainers for some packages install scripts that work
as generic init.d scripts (i.e. handles "start", "restart" and "stop"
arguments). But we don't have any requirement to do this, so in most cases
it is not done.

It appears that the startup script for apache2 package should be portable.
(It doesn't force use of rc.subr system.)

As for myself, I use pkgtools/rcorder and wip/rc.subr on my Linux boxes.
