That's just outdated -- it's from a time when people thought
that changes would be fed back to FreeBSD ports. In the meantime
the systems have diverged too much, so this suggestion is not
useful any longer.

Just import a working version, and if you take patches or similar
stuff from the FreeBSD port, then credit the port.
