I guess I have to set some kind of environment variable?

I get this error:

[...]
===> Configuring for xless-1.7nb1
imake -DUseInstalled -I/usr/pkg/lib/X11/config -I/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/config
Imakefile.c:16: Imake.tmpl: No such file or directory
imake: Exit code 1.
  Stop.

This is MacOSX 10.3.3. I do not have a /etc/mk.conf. xpkgwedge-1.10
is installed. I use X11 from the MacOSX 10.3 (Panther) install CDROM
(installed in /usr/X11R6). imake is /usr/X11R6/bin/imake. Imake.tmpl
is in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/config/Imake.tmpl. My package source is in
/Volumes/misc/pkgsrc, packages are installed in /Volumes/misc/pkg
(/Volumes/misc is a UFS filesystem). Root has this environment
variable: XAPPLRESDIR=/usr/pkg/lib/X11/app-defaults (empty dir).
# ls /usr/pkg/lib/X11/config/
host.def        xpkgwedge.def
