I posted a message a few days back about issues installing vlc that were
related to files not being found. I discovered that creating the
following directories manually allowed the installation to proceed
without difficulties:

/usr/pkg/share/vlc/http
/usr/pkg/share/vlc/http/admin
/usr/pkg/share/vlc/skins
/usr/pkg/share/vlc/skins/default

Is creating these directories automatically a function of the Makefile
from vlc itself or does it have something to do with the PLIST or
something else? Thank you for your help.
