Hi,

I wonder what keeps us from renaming e.g. the package python23 to 
python2.3 to make the version number clear. (There had been a discussion 
on this topic some weeks ago.)

[ ] There are operating systems that cannot handle dots
[ ] dots in package names are dangerous
[ ] separating the version number from the package name would be harder
[ ] other: ____________________________________
