   It should.  It will fail, however, if there have been changes
to the structure (i.e. dependencies have changed) of the built
packages.

   No, that should not happen.  However, it's best if you
backup the .DDIR file from the "work" subdirectory of
the package you did a 'make update' for.  This is the
file that contains the list of packages to rebuild.
