I'm trying to build mc-4.6.0 from pkgsrc-wip on a SuSE 7.2 machine, but 
it fails.

One reason is the following excerpt from work/.work.log:

As you can easily see, all the directory entries starting with /usr/pkg/ 
are simply removed. Why?
