I keep seeing messages like the following (just posted to netbsd-users@):

---------- Forwarded message ----------
I just did a total fresh install of NetBSD 1.6.1 (i386) from scratch. No
problems with the install, so the first thing I decided to do after the
install was installing my favorite shell (bash). So, I downloaded
pkgsrc.tar.gz from ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-current/tar_files/ and
after a little time unpacking I cd'ed into /usr/pkgsrc/shells/bash2 and
typed: 'make'. Here's the output I got back:

---
pkg_info: unknown option -- K
---------------------------------------

My questions:

Is there a ready-to-use pkg_install package they can pkg_add to fix this?
(We should allow pkg_install to be packaged.)

Is this a problem for NetBSD 1.6.2 about to be released?

Or can pkgsrc's mk/ routines check for correct version and allow upgrading
the pkg_install without using the -K (at first)?

And can someone reply to the posting on netbsd-users@ ?
