Hrmm. under Solaris 9 I'm getting most packages building without a 
hitch. I have no special tricks, except sometimes things a bit strange 
with dependencies, and I have to go build the dep by hand first. 
Anything else I try to send-pr.

Perhaps you should tell us exactly how your builds are failing.
