How will that break your scripts?
The output of "pkg_info pkg" is intended to be consumed by humans, dunno
where your exact problem is? Of course you can still force the old
behaviour by stating exactly (via the appropriate switches) what you want
to have printed - I just changed the default.

pkg_info -aD already does that.
