Hello,

 I am having the rather strange issue that the ircII client from pkgsrc
(latest CVS) doesn't allow me to enter the german Umlaut ä (small ae),
even though all other Umlauts (including the Ä (uppercase Ae) and digraphs
work. It is possible to enter the Umlaut using the digraph combination a "
which is rather inconvenient to type. Translation is set to LATIN_1.

 Does anybody has the same issue? Is this a known bug? Patch available?
