Posting was on the 26th to be exact. :)  That got me on my way.  Once I
checked the buildlink directory and saw the error you were discussing, I
noticed there was no /usr/lib/libpthread.la file.  I packaged the pth lib
from pkgsrc, and copied this file over to /usr/lib.  Not the most elequent
of solutions, but this seemed to work.
