ok, i should have payed more attention. it's actually config.status
which is failing for you. after the "make configure" crashes, change
the first line in
/usr/pkgsrc/net/net-snmp/work/net-snmp-5.0.9/config.status to "#!/bin/sh
-x" and run it again to see what exactly is dumping the core and what's
it trying to do.
