Subject: graphics/gdk-pixbuf-gnome and iconv

graphics/gdk-pixbuf-gnome failed to build, not finding libiconv. I
made the links in work/.buildlink by hand and it then built.
Reading the twisty maze of buildlink2 files, I find that gettext-lib
includes libiconv, but only if the installed gettext-lib has a
dependency on libiconv. Somehow, libiconv's buildlinking seemed not
to happen.

gdk-pixbuf has the same issue (no iconv in buildlink dir), but it
seems to build anyway.

This is from pkgsrc from most of a week ago, on a new system with
pretty clean builds of what is built - a make replace of an odd pkg
from foo to foonb1, but not anything scarier.

Any clues?
