That should be fine; when Pine is updated, so should Pico. If Pico's source
code didn't change, its version can remain the same with an updated Pine
: (A Makefile.common will also be useful, maybe, when pilot is made into

Ew. This road is long and ugly -- now that nano exists, I really don't see
the need even for pico to be external.
