In pkgsrc, cups has been updated to 1.1.18 which includes several
security fixes. (Thank you jlam.) (Consider using audit-packages to check
this and other security issues.)

Check your cups logs under /var/log/cups/.

Also, note that cups has a slow startup; in my experiences (on different
systems), the cups' http service doesn't start listening for 30 seconds to
a minute or longer.
