a) why would someone wants to polute his pkgsrc tree?

b) isn't true.  just set WRKBOJDIR to some writable directory (i do this
at home where i have cvs repository on a nfs server and clients mount it
read-only).

from pkgsrc/mk/bsd.prefs.mk:
