hi all,

The bootstrap-pkgsrc kit now builds on at least Solaris 8 with
the Sun WorkShop 5.0 compiler, and I've been able to build a
handful of packages:

# pkg_info
digest-20020726 Message digest wrapper utility
patch-2.5.4 Patch files using diff output
libtool-base-1.4.20010614nb10 Generic shared library support script (the script itself)
db-2.7.7nb1 Sleepycat Software's Berkeley DB version 2
libmm-1.2.1 Portable abstraction layer for shared memory
libiconv-1.8 character set conversion library
gettext-lib-0.11.5 tools for providing messages in different languages, libintl
gtexinfo-4.3nb1 GNU info file manipulation utilities
gmake-3.80 GNU version of 'make' utility
expat-1.95.5 XML parser library written in C
apache-1.3.27nb3 Apache HTTP (Web) server
perl-5.6.1nb7 Practical Extraction and Report Language
openssl-0.9.6g Secure Socket Layer and cryptographic library
ap-ssl-2.8.12nb1 SSL/TLS protocols module for Apache
zlib-1.1.4 General purpose data compression library
tcp_wrappers-7.6.1nb1 Monitor and filter incoming requests for network services
skey-1.1.5 Port of OpenBSD s/key implementation

Some not-so-well behaved packages may fail, of course. Please
send-pr if any problems are encountered.

So, you can now say "death to gcc!" :)

grant.
