I haven't tried it, but shouldn't pkg_install do TRT since in
bootstrap-pkgsrc/bootstrap, before we even build pkg_install, the
variable PKG_DBDIR is initialized to $pkgdbdir (passed as a command-line
argument) and exported ?

Only if $pkgdbdir is not set on the command-line to boostrap is
DEF_LOG_DIR used, I believe.
