Hi,

patches often change for a package update. If the patch applies to the
same file as before it keeps its name (eg patch-aa for file 'foo.c').

If a file in the archive moves to a different directory am I supposed to
consider this a 'new' file, remove the old patch and add a new one (eg
patch-ab for 'directory/foo.c')?

For tracking the changes to this file, which has slightly changed but
basically serves the same purpose as before only in a different
directory, I tend to keep the name of the patch.

ciao
